It honestly feels like it has been an eternity since I moved from England to France even though it was only a few months ago. It was a big step for me coming to live in a country where I had previously spent little more than a summer vacation at and where, worst of all, I did not speak the local language. It took time for me to get settled but now I am happy to call 'La ville rose' my home.
Since the beginning of the year I have been putting things in motion to start re-opening my Boudoir photography business and finally I can share the opening date of my new studio in Toulouse:
01st June 2019
At first I was scared to have to start from scratch and having to find a whole new client base. It would have been the easiest point in time to throw in the towel. But I did not. Instead it made me re-evaluate my business and why I love doing what I do.
I cannot even describe the magic that a tailored Boudoir experience creates in a woman:
The transformation from slightly apprehensive to truly revealing her sensual self during the photo shoot, the nervous excitement when she comes in to see her images for the first time and then this incredible mix of surprise, acceptance, joy, pride and happiness when we watch her slide show together before chosing her favourite photographs. Encouraging and guiding women through this journey makes my heart overflow with emotions.
Admittedly I am still worried about finding new clients. I am still concerned about my French not being perfect. But I will not let that fear of not being perfect become an excuse for me to not do what feels right - you do not need to be perfect, all you need to be is yourself!
Therefore I cannot wait to start creating authentic, personalised Boudoir portraits for mes chères Toulousaines!
