Please avoid the "quick wedding add-on" trap!

I completely understand where you are coming from. Your wedding is already expensive and you are already hiring a wedding photographer, so why can't (s)he just take a few sexy snaps of you instead of you having to pay for an additional Bridal Boudoir photo shoot?

So let's have a look at just a few of the main reasons why Boudoir photography is such a specialised craft and cannot simply be a quick add-on to your wedding photographs.

Confidence

Maybe you are quite nervous before their Boudoir session? The majority of my work does not actually consist of taking or editing portraits. Boudoir is all about making you feel at ease in front of the camera and encouraging you to simply be yourself. I ensure that your favourite features are highlighted but also work towards you accepting and loving all parts of your body.  I fully understand that giving women courage and confidence is achieved by listening to them share their personal stories and actively supporting their emotional journey, not by asking them to say "Cheeeese".

Comfort

Maybe you are slightly insecure about some part of their body? Having had my own Boudoir photo shoot, I know exactly how you feel and therefore ensure to find out about such delicate, personal topics during our pre-shoot consultation. Without this preparation and understanding, an unprepared photographer might ask you to show what you might not want to or focus on your least favourite features, making you feel uneasy. And believe me when I say that it is absolutley impossible to take stunning photos of women not feeling completely at ease in front of the camera.

Posing

Maybe you have never had professional portaits taken? You might not know how to look or pose in front a camera, even when fully clothed. Then again, taking pictures in a wedding dress is very different compared to the vunerability of standing there only in what you wear underneath that beautiful gown of yours. You will feel much more exposed and your photographer must know how to pose all parts of your body favourably. In order to support you feeling physically and emotionally secure, I explain and am happy to demonstrate every single pose instead of manually adjusting you by touching you unsolicitedly.

Advice

Maybe you do not know what type of lingerie suits your body type? Stockings or hold-ups, corsets or garter belts, garter or no garter - the choices are sheer endless. By sharing my vast knowledge of years of shooting with women of all shapes and sizes in lingerie, I will help you choose the type of lingerie which highlights your best features. Not only does this guaranteed that you will look beautiful in your Bridal Boudoir photographs but I also ensure that you will take your spouse's breath away on your honeymoon.

And I dare say your wedding photographer, no matter how professioinal (s)he is, cannot promise you that!

As tempting as it may be to try to save a little bit of time and money by asking your wedding photographer to take some sexy snaps while you are getting ready for your big day, it cannot do the the more intimate significance of your wedding day justice in the delicate way Boudoir photography will.

Ask yourself: Would it really be worth taking the risk of missing out on authentically capturing the unique, sensual beauty of this once in a life time experience, especially after all these hours you have spent at the gym in order to look your best on your wedding day? You deserve to immortalise that!
